Looking for space for your community program? Our schools offer flexible rental options throughout the year, subject to school and board programming needs.
Indoor Rentals
Indoor facilities are available for rent in the evenings and weekends during the school year, and on weekdays in the summer, subject to custodial coverage.
From September to June, indoor spaces are generally available on school days from 5:30pm–9:30pm, and on weekends from 8am–6pm. In the summer, indoor rentals are available weekdays from 7:30am–3:30pm. Availability during the summer may vary due to construction and maintenance projects.
Schools are not available for rent during PA days, statutory holidays, long weekends, the first two weeks of the school year to allow schools time to settle in, and the December and March Break shutdown periods.
Outdoor Rentals
An artificial turf field at Great Lakes Secondary School is available beginning April 1. All other outdoor (natural grass) spaces are available beginning May 1, weather and field conditions permitting. More details are available on the Outdoor Rentals page.
Available Spaces
We offer gymnasiums, auditoriums, secondary classrooms, cafeterias, and sports fields. Specialized rooms (such as labs, technology rooms, and weight rooms) are not available for rental.
Ideal for Community Programs
Our facilities support a wide range of community programs, from academic support and parent classes to sports, youth groups, theatre, and wellness activities.
Prohibited Activities
School facilities must be used in accordance with Ministry of Education, Lambton Kent District School Board, and St. Clair Catholic District School Board rules and regulations. More details are available on the Rules & Regulations page.
The Lambton Kent and St. Clair Catholic District School Boards do not rent space for private events such as birthday parties, team parties, family reunions, receptions, funerals, memorials, anniversaries, or corporate gatherings. CLASS reserves the right to classify rentals and may refuse or cancel bookings if necessary.
Priority of Use
The primary use of school facilities, buildings, and grounds is the delivery of education to students. School-day activities, extra-curricular activities, and parent involvement activities organized or administered by the school/board have priority of use during and after regular school hours.
Applications are not approved on a first-come, first-served basis. When rentable spaces are requested for the same time and location, priority will be determined based on factors such as rental category and activity type, availability of alternative venues, previous history of the rental group, and whether the request is a long-term or single-use booking.
As school boards, our goal is to provide access to not-for-profit organizations offering programs for local youth whenever possible.
