Today we are talking about Community Safety Zones. These areas - typically surrounding schools, daycare centres and parks - are designated stretches of roadway where safety is the highest priority. They are recognized under provincial legislation and marked by community safety zone signs. These posted signs indicate speed limits are reduced in these areas. The classification of these zones is a way to protect vulnerable road users that frequent these areas.

Being aware of Community Safety Zones in your area allows you to contribute to the safety of your community! Be sure to adjust your speed when you enter these zones.
