Something to always be aware of around the school bus is the DANGER ZONE.

The Danger Zone is the area around the bus where the driver has limited sightlines. The best way to remember is that it is 10 STEPS in each direction surrounding the bus.

Ways to stay safe in the danger zone:
❗never walk behind the bus
❗only go in front of the bus when the crossing gate and stop arm are activated
❗stay away from the tires and the side of the bus
❗never try to touch the outside of the bus
❗if you drop an item around or under the bus, tell the driver and they will assist you

Flashing amber lights on the school bus act as a warning that the bus will be coming to a stop. Once those lights change to red that means stop! 🛑
